One of my most common writing errors this semester had to do with proper punctuation with quotes. I would often put my periods outside of my quotes or forget to utilize commas inside my quotation marks. These errors would come up in my peer reviews and instructor comments. Once I received this feedback enough I started to consciously pick up on it as I was writing. I think over the course of the semester I have gotten a lot better at this. I always knew the proper way to use my punctuation but I used to think it didn’t look right and would end up just doing whatever. In the future I will try to continue being careful with my punctuation when it comes to quoting until it becomes a habit to use it the right way.
